AgriVijay, the agricultural startup that started from scratch and is now earning a profit, attracts takeover proposals while securing Pre-Series A funding.
AgriVijay, a marketplace for renewable and green energy solutions, has made a significant impact in rural India by achieving profitability without the need for major venture capital backing. Founded by Vimal Panjwani and his mother Shobha Chanchlani in June 2020, the company has grown steadily, reaching an annual turnover of INR 5 crore by 2025.
AgriVijay's success can be attributed to its bootstrapped, impact-first business model, which combines physical and digital approaches. The company employs an AI-enabled chatbot and a farmer-first advisory service that recommends energy-efficient products tailored to specific farm parameters.
The company offers over 200 energy-efficient products, including solar pumps, clean cookstoves, biogas digesters, electric tractors, drones, and more, sourced from 55+ partner companies. This diverse product offering is available through a network of "AgriVijay Renewable Energy Stores," a franchise model that empowers rural entrepreneurs to serve as local energy advisors and technology enablers. As of now, there are over 101 stores across 18 states, 37 districts, and 595+ villages.
AgriVijay's strong community focus is another key factor in its success. The founders prioritise energy independence and sustainable livelihoods over pure profit, and the company has impacted over 10,350 rural families and helped irrigate more than 900 acres of farmland through solar-powered solutions.
In addition to providing renewable energy solutions, AgriVijay also promotes organic and regenerative farming practices, contributing to climate-smart agriculture. The company's efforts have resulted in significant environmental benefits, saving approximately 264,240 kg of firewood and preventing over 124,153 tons of CO2 emissions.
AgriVijay has formed strategic partnerships with several organisations, including the JSW Foundation, UNDP, Government of Japan, BAIF, Grameen Foundation, SELCO Foundation, and MGNREGA. The company has also received recognition for its work, winning the NASSCOM SME Inspire Award in 2025, being a top finalist for the Mint AI Tech4Good Awards by Mint & Salesforce, and being a two-time FICCI Startup Awardee in 2021 and 2024.
Looking ahead, AgriVijay plans to expand both domestically and internationally, targeting markets like Africa and Southeast Asia. The company is currently in discussions for its pre-Series A round with potential strategic investors and has received acquisition offers. With its unique blend of profitability, purpose, and scalability, AgriVijay is redefining success in the Indian agritech space.
