The city of Munich is set to welcome a new pop-up project, "Kneipe 80," opening its doors on September 18th. Located in the former Pasta e Basta at Fraunhoferstraße 19, this establishment is more than just a bar – it's a place to meet, to reminisce, and to celebrate.

Operated by Marc Uebelherr and Alex Brenner, the pop-up aims to bring back memories from the 80s with its concept. For Uebelherr, the 80s were a time of music, energy, and emotions, and he associates this era with Freddie Mercury, who lived in Hans-Sachs-Straße during that time and reportedly threw wild parties in the Glockenbach quarter.

The pop-up offers a variety of experiences, including themed parties such as "Baywatch." For those seeking a more casual atmosphere, daily music from a turntable is played from 4 pm, with vinyl records providing the soundtrack.

When it comes to refreshments, "Kneipe 80" offers beer for €4.20 and food, with a special deal where three beers can be purchased for €3.90. The pop-up does not want to be just a club; instead, it aims to be a neighbourhood pub that guests can afford to visit multiple times a week.

In the past, Uebelherr and Brenner have been known for bringing back nostalgia with other pop-up shops, such as Zoozie'z and Rolandseck. For them, "Kneipe 80" is an extension of their mission to create spaces that evoke the spirit of a bygone era.

For themed parties, around 17 tons of sand were brought in and later removed to create the perfect atmosphere. The pop-up "Kneipe 80" is not just a trip down memory lane; it's an invitation to create new memories, to meet new people, and to experience the energy and emotions of the 80s in the heart of Munich.
